Deploying to IIS 7.x / Windows Server 2008

IIS Integrated Mode (IIS 7.x for Windows Server 2008)

When a web site is running under IIS Integrated mode, the web server searches the HttpHandler registrations under the <system.webServer> configuration section instead of the standard <system.web> configuration section of the application configuration file. It is needed to manually register the AspMap image handler, or using the IIS administration capabilities.
The manual registration is done the following way. Suppose you have the following structure of the web.config file:

<system.web>
<httpHandlers>
<add path="MapImageHandler.axd" verb="*" type="AspMap.Web.ImageHandler, AspMapNET" />
</httpHandlers>
</system.web>

To manually register the HttpHandler for the IIS7 Integrated mode, copy the AspMap.Web.ImageHandler to the <handlers> section of the <system.webServer> section group, and give it a name:

<system.webServer>
<handlers>
<add name="AspMap.Web.ImageHandler" path="MapImageHandler.axd" verb="*" type="AspMap.Web.ImageHandler, AspMapNET" preCondition="integratedMode" />
</handlers>
<validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" />
</system.webServer>
