I can not get eithor of the attached tif file to load into a layer.
The call is :
Dim NewLayer As ActualMap.Layer = ActualMap.Layer.Open(ShapeFileName)
Where ShapeFileName = eithor tif file.
I dont get any error but NewLayer is nothing.
This may mean that the path to the file is incorrect or the TIFF file has unsupported format (for example this is a multi-page tiff file).
I have 2 examples in a zip file but don't know how to attach them here.
The tiff file is a satellite 4 band image.
Is this supported?
Images with 1 and 3 samples per pixel are supported.
You have to remove the infrared(4) channel from the image to display it.
How do I do that?
Would it be better if the tool just ignored that band?
I converted the 4 band to 3 band GeoTIFF with both GDAL utilities and ArcGIS. There must be some info hanging around in the file headers that VDS tools still did not like.I then used Windows Image Viewer to save it in the JPEG format, JPEG supports the multibands so they were preserved.I then used Windows Image Viewer to save it back to the original tiff file.VDS tools was then able to read and properly register the image with the shape file.
Any better steps for a solution would be helpful.
I now have a GeoTIFF file that when I execute
Dim lyr As ActualMap.Layer = mMap.AddLayer(FileName)
when returns lyr is nothing.
Is there an error code I can find.
